The Honors
Program welcomes applications from academically focused students
who are entering the University as freshmen, have been enrolled
at The University of Memphis for a semester or two, or are transferring
from other colleges and universities.
Entering
Freshmen
Once you have been accepted to The University of Memphis, you will
automatically receive an invitation to join the Honors Program if
you meet both of the following criteria:
- An ACT
composite score of 27 or more (or a combined SAT score of 1200
or above)
- A 3.5
cumulative high school GPA
If you
did not receive an invitation or do not meet our initial criteria,
you may still apply for admission to the Honors Program. We are
especially interested in highly motivated students who have taken
advanced placement, accelerated, or honors courses in high school.
Apply online.
Transfer
Students
Transfer students interested in becoming part of The University
of Memphis Honors Program must submit an application directly to
the program. The Honors application is submitted in addition to
the application that is submitted to the Office of Admission at
The University of Memphis. To be considered for admission, transfer
students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 for freshmen
and sophomores and 3.25 for upper-division students. Apply online.
Current
University of Memphis Students
Current students who would like to be a part of the Honors Program
are encouraged to apply after they have been at The U of M for at
least a semester. Current students are eligible if they have earned
an overall grade point average of 3.00 for freshmen and sophomores
and 3.25 for juniors and seniors. Apply online.
